Preparing to move

Rachel and I are getting ready to move. Many Boxes have been packed but there will be many many more to come. Tonight I’ll be hanging out with a few guys from the office. I’m lazier than normal when my wife is gone so Wednesday, when she is at nursery until 9, I will probably not get a lot done, and Thursday will be the same since she will be headed to Jacksonville that day. I will need a little boost in will power.

In regards to preparing everything for our arrival in New Orleans, I have been a little more diligent. The apartment is secure, arrangements have been made to get the extra vehicle down there (since we will have a moving truck), and the moving truck has been reserved (which cost a small fortune). A few job applications have been filled out and all my paperwork for admission into the seminary has been turned in.

I am getting pretty excited about being in New Orleans. I’m also getting very anxious. We have been preparing for some time to go and a lot of decisions going back as far as over a year ago have been made based on us leaving for seminary in August.

Furlough did not help financially, but it was definitely a sign from God that we needed to go ahead and leave for this upcoming semester. About the time we were told about it, we had just about decided to wait until January to go. Like most at BPC, I wasn’t too excited about the decision by the Executive Counsel to make us take unpaid vacation days and decided that it wasn’t worth it to stick around.

The plan is to head out of Mount Vernon on August 5, go most of the way to New Orleans, get a hotel, and finish the drive Thursday morning. Classes start August 17!
